Located in Hudson, Operation HELP provides residents of St. Croix County with financial assistance, a place for personal support, and connections to community resources to alleviate short-term economic crises. Sweet Top Farm has donated fresh produce to this organization for 10 years, and we have seen how people in our community are positively impacted by the work of Operation Help.
9,800 households are projected to be food insecure in western Wisconsin. That means we need to double the food being distributed to meet the growing need in our communities. 30-60% more food will be needed to respond to those in need by 2023. This is in addition to the 6 million pounds to meet the pre-pandemic need. In 2023, we donated over 1000 pounds of produce to the St. Croix Valley Food Bank.
Each season, we participate in the Farm to Patient program at the Turtle Lake Clinic. This program connects NorthLakes Community Clinic patients with fresh food from local farms. The participants who qualify receive a fresh box of season produce with nutrition education, recipes, and other support in making healthy eating and lifestyle changes. You can choose to support the Farm to Patient program directly or direct your donation to another service that this organization provides.
